At last, the Oldies Club application for registered charity status is almost ready to go, but there is one thing that needs to be done before it can be submitted. We need to adopt a constitution and elect Trustees and Officers.
We are doing this through the Oldies AR forum, as a virtual meeting of members.
There is now a thread setting out the governing document or constitution for the Oldies Club as a charity, and putting forward the names of those members who have offered to act as Trustees and Officers for the Oldies Club.
As many members as possible need to view this thread, and to cast their vote to adopt the constitution and elect the named Trustees, and those to act as Chair, Secretary and Treasurer by posting their support (or otherwise!) on the thread, ideally with a real name, e.g. “I, A. N. Other, vote to adopt this constitution and elect the aforesaid members as Trustees.”
This will be printed out and enclosed in the application as minutes of the meeting at which the constitution was adopted – so let’s keep it clean! ;-P
