In a few weeks time, we’re going to be giving this website a bit of a cleanout. We will soon be coming up to 900 dogs listed on the website and rehomed, which is excellent news!
However, unfortunately we cannot really store all the photographs and records in public forever: it’s getting harder to run searches, the sheer number of images we are storing is getting to the silly stage, and generally the site is using rather a lot of system resources that aren’t strictly necessary for the site to do its important job of finding homes for dogs.
Therefore we will be doing a little housekeeping. We will keep the total of dogs rehomed, but the older records and photos of dogs that have been rehomed, and have been on the site for more than a year, will be removed from the Rehomed Dogs category and will no longer be publicly available.
If you adopted a dog from the Oldies Club website over a year ago but have submitted updates to his/her record for the ‘Rehoming Stories‘ category, those will remain available.
However, if you want to keep a copy of your dogs [b]original[/b] rehoming record from the Rehomed Dogs category, and/or a copy of the pictures, now is the time to save or print out your own copy of that.
We will be keeping a copy of the database and photos which can be checked in an emergency, but if you don’t take a copy now and then decide you do want one later, it’s going to be a bit of a pain to retrieve it, so we will be asking for a donation towards the ever-increasing vets bills for retrieving things once the spring clean has occurred.
