8/3/13 Bertie’s found a home today! With lovely people who have adopted from the Ark previously. Happy days now Bertie.
Bertie is an 8 year old Boxer boy who has led a solitary life with his owner and is now very sad and confused to find himself in rescue. He is being rehomed by the Ark on the Lincolnshire coast.
Bertie has been living with just his owner in a very remote place, seeing and meeting no-one, and no other animals, so has had a very quiet life. Bertie and his owner were devoted to one another and went everywhere together, so Bertie is only used to being left for 10 minutes at a time.
Poor Bertie can’t understand what’s happened and is finding all the activity and people at the Ark difficult to cope with. He needs to find a new, quiet home as soon as possible.
Bertie is a frendly boy who, if possible, would love to have a one to one relationship with his new owner. He’s good with people but isn’t used to being with children, dogs or cats. He has tried to lunge at other dogs when on walks from the Ark.
Bertie has never shown any aggression. He’s housetrained and has been used to sleeping in his own bed in the bedroom. He travels well (has been to France) and he walks well on the lead behind you, but has never been off the lead so his recall is unknown. His favourite toy is a plastic hoop.
Bertie has been neutered and vaccinated. He has an occasional irregular heartbeat but isn’t on medication. He also gets eczema and the cream to treat it costs £4 per pot. He’s OK at the vets but always stays outside until called in.
If you can offer a quiet home to this older lad who’s led such a sheltered life, please contact the Ark as follows:
