3/12/12 Little Butch has found his forever home!
Meet Butch. He’s a 10 or 11 year old Shih Tzu who is being rehomed by Animal Helpline. Originally he was in kennels but found that very stressful and stopped eating. Fortunately, a really good foster place was found for him and he moved in happily.
While he was in kennels poor Butch didn’t attract much interest, possibly because he’s certainly not the stereotypical pretty little lapdog. His face may not be classically beautiful but he’s unique and full of character. This is what Animal Helpline have to say about him:
“Butch came into our care but found kennels way to stressful, this little lad stopped eating and was losing his sparkle, with a face only a mother could love and with no interest in this little lad a foster place was sought and he was lucky enough to find a spot with one of our good fosterers. He has settled well in his foster home and has been a easy going companion. He resides with other dogs, big and small, and gets on well with all. He likes to cuddle up to another dog and we would prefer a new home for him with another resident dog. Butch has not met cats but we believe with careful introductions he could live with one. He would like a home without small children as little ones would be to busy for him.
Butch is still a keen walker and enjoys his walks, because of his size he is easy on a lead. He also walks off lead with his foster mum and keeps with her and the other dogs. We would love to find a new home for this little lad but being a oldie, abit short sighted and abit deaf we realise he will probably be overlooked.
Butch has a long coat which will need a daily groom and he is quite happy about this. He also loves a cuddle and enjoys getting up on the sofa next to his person. He is toilet trained and travels well. He would suit a older person and would make a great companion. Butch is neutered.”
