5/7/13 Sadie has gone to her new home!
Sadie is a 12 year old Collie X girl who came into Oldies Club care from a dog pound, after being found as a stray. She’s now in an Oldies Club foster home in Nottingham, waiting for someone to offer her a permanent home.
Had to be clipped: Sadie’s coat was in a terrible state and so she had to be completely clipped and bathed to make her comfortable. The photo below was taken at the pound, so this is what she looks like with hair!
Doing well in foster: Sadie settled at her foster home within a couple of days. She is fine to be left alone for a few hours, but she wouldn’t be happy to live with full-time workers.
Enjoys living with dogs: Sadie really likes dogs and would be very happy to live with other dogs.
OK with a confident cat: Sadie will chase cats if they run but she would be OK to live with a confident cat.
Can live with teenagers: Sadie would be fine to live with teenagers. She should also cope with having small children visit her home, but she wouldn’t want to be pulled around by them.
Loves walks: Sadie loves walks but she needs to be kept on the lead as she is partially deaf and is prone to wandering off. She is currently enjoying two walks a day, between 10 and 30 minutes each walk.
Good in the car: Yes she is!
Sadie’s favourite pastimes: Walks; Playing with soft toys; Playing ball in the garden; Sleeping in front of the fire.
Sadie’s perfect home: Sadie would love a home with a garden, and with her owner home for the majority of the day.
Health notes: Sadie is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, wormed and flea treated. Since coming into our care she has had a dental. She has a few lumps and bumps but nothing that concerns the vet, and she doesn’t have any ongoing medical issues. When Sadie’s coat has grown back it will need regular brushing to keep Sadie beautiful.
Foster carer’s summary of Sadie: Sadie is a happy character and is playful, relaxed and calm. She is sprightly and likes going for walks and playing with her toys, but she is most content just being with you as you go about your day. Sadie does not like to be left alone for long periods and would love a home where someone is around for the majority of the time. She would find the companionship of living with another dog very comforting as she is partially deaf and gets a little startled at times.
If you would like to offer Sadie a permanent home, please refer to our Adoption Procedures for information about the adoption process. You can then contact an Oldies Club rehoming co-ordinator as follows:
Email: [email protected]
Telephone: 0844 586 8656
Sadie can be rehomed anywhere in the UK, subject to a satisfactory home visit, but note that you will be required to travel to the foster home to meet her.
If you would love to offer a home to an oldie but your circumstances aren’t suitable, perhaps you would be kind enough to sponsor one of the special oldies we are caring for that, due to health problems, are unlikely to be offered a permanent home.
