15.8.2014 We are so sorry to hear that poor Tizer has passed away. What a shame that he never found his forever home.

RSPCA West Hatch in Taunton, Somerset, have Tizer, a 10 year old lurcher, currently residing with them, and this gorgeous chap would like to introduce himself:

“Hello, my name is Tizer. I’m the “‘Old Lurcher of West Hatch”‘ and the staff love me. I caused much concern when I first came to the centre. I was dreadfully underweight, rather smelly, partially sighted and maybe partly deaf and I was very unsteady on my feet. However despite my sorry state, I still retained a quiet dignity and with gentle care and attention have slowly regained my condition. Three meals a day of my favourite meat and biscuit have seen my weight gradually go up and a few baths have restored my coat to most of its former glory.

I still have trouble seeing and hearing but the staff have sussed out how to communicate with me and some have suggested I hear and see what I want to! I am much more confident on my feet and have recently been caught jogging around the compound and rolling on  my back in the sunshine. At times you can see glimpses of what I must have looked like in my prime and it was surely a sight to behold.

I know I’m not getting any younger and will have health issues which will accompany me into my twilight years. However in a quiet home with gentle caring owners who will look out for me, then I could brighten anyone’s life for a number of years to come. I guess we are all deserving cases here but us oldies really have a way of tugging at the heart strings, so please give the staff a call if you’d like to meet me.”

Wouldn’t it be wonderful for Tizer to spend the rest of his days in comfort and love? You can contact the RSCPA West Hatch as follows if you can offer this lovely lad a fresh start:
