Petition to introduce compulsory scanning for microchips for ‘found’ dogs

last updated:

Listed under:

People have their beloved dogs (and other animal companions) microchipped with the belief that, along with wearing a legally required ID tag, they have the best chance of being reunited with their dog, should he/she go missing. We know many vets, dog wardens/local authorities, rescue centres etc. do already scan incoming dogs for a microchip as a matter of routine, which is great, but sadly not all do.

Please take a minute to click HERE and sign today if you haven’t already – and make sure you click the confirmation email you’ll receive to ensure your support counts.

There are still many thousands of signatures needed to reach the 100,000 target before the petition closes in less than 3 weeks and surely this is a petition that all UK dog lovers with microchipped dogs would sign if they were aware of it?

If you have already signed, do encourage your family, friends, colleagues etc. to sign too. Thank you :-)
