10/12/17 – Bella has found a home!
Bella is about 8 years old and is a large white mixed breed dog, perhaps with some Labrador or white German Shepherd heritage. She has recently come to the UK from Romania and is being rehomed by Safe Rescue and is in a foster home (FR057) in Long Stratton, Norfolk.
Bella spent 4 long years in a public shelter in Romania, waiting for her happy ever after. Her foster carers say that Bella’s transformation since coming to the UK has been wonderful to be a part of.
Initially she was a very timid and quiet girl, probably because it is likely she had never been in a home before, but Bella is now blossoming into a kind, friendly and playful family pet. She has been clean in the house since she arrived and is doing very well with learning to walk on the lead, although, as this is still new to her, her training will need to be continued.
Bella absolutely adores children and has been very gentle and kind with the resident 3 and 10 year olds. She has met the cat once and showed no interest, so may be cat-trainable so long as the process is closely supervised.
Bella has been to the vets for a check up and has mild cataracts which are not causing her any problems at the moment. Bella has recently started playing with the younger of the other dogs in the home, which is wonderful to see. It is thought that Bella would be happiest living with at least one other dog, so that she has a playmate and to help her grow in confidence.
Bella loves human contact and actively seeks affection from her foster family. They said: “Bella has been a complete joy to have in our home, and we are confident she will be a loyal and loving member of her new family“.
