Buster (Freshfields Animal Rescue, Liverpool)

Buster is a gorgeous 7 year old English Bull Terrier Cross boy who was much loved and doted on by his previous owners. Sadly, due to his male owner developing dementia, Buster finds himself at Freshfields Animal Rescue in Liverpool, waiting for some lovely people to offer him a new home.

Buster is an amazing dog and Freshfields staff and volunteers are truly besotted with him. He is an intelligent boy who is desperate to please you and respond to what you ask of him.

Due to the circumstances in his home, Buster hasn’t been walked in recent times. Now that Freshfields have reintroduced him to walkies he is thoroughly enjoying getting out and about, bless him! Initially he was strong on the lead and was getting stressed or distracted by new sights, but he has improved remarkably and his walkers are seeing fantastic results after following Freshfields’ behaviourist’s advice. Buster now walks well on the lead and responds to having treats as a distraction if needed. This clever, responsive lad has so much potential and Freshfields can’t stress enough how special he is!

Buster’s potential new owners will need to be able to visit him a few times so that he can get to know them before going home. After living a restricted life of late, Buster can be a little stressed around the rescue, but away from there, in a loving, calm home environment, he should soon settle down and become the most affectionate, loyal and devoted companion.

Buster needs an adult only home as he can be lively and bouncy. He needs to be the only dog in his new home. Freshfields were told that he used to be good with other dogs before his owners stopped walking him. He does bark at some dogs he sees on walks, but it seems more of an inquisitive bark rather than an aggressive one. If a dog is being aggressive towards him he will bark back, but this is fairly standard behaviour from most dogs! He doesn’t like cats. He should be able to be left on his own for a few hours, once he has settled in.

Buster needs a home with someone experienced with dogs, preferably rescue dogs, and especially strong breeds. Freshfields love Buster so much and they believe he will make an amazing addition to his new family.
