Lovely Lana is a large Collie cross of around 7 years. She’s in foster care near Fordingbridge, Hampshire through Safe Rescue, while she waits for a quiet retirement home with one or two kind people to love.
Lana is very soppy! She can take as much fuss as you can dish out. She’s a bit timid with people she doesn’t know but as soon as you show her affection she’ll be tapping you with her paw to say “more please”.
Safe Rescue say, “In April this year she was taken out of a shelter in Romania where it is reckoned she had been for at least 3 years. She was such a bag of skin and bones that her rescuers did not expect her to survive. As you can see she did and not only that but 7 months on she is now a bit on the rotund side!
“She is a very sweet natured and affectionate girl. She has been clean in the house since arrival and is learning very quickly to walk on the lead. I am pretty sure she has never had a home before and will need a quiet forever home, possibly as an only dog, or with another quiet natured dog. As many things are new to her, her adopters will need to be fairly experienced and patient.”
You can see how bright and attentive Lana is from her photos. Collies are ranked the most intelligent out of 137 recognised breeds. Lana certainly looks as though she’s inherited the collie’s need to please and ability to listen and understand (not to mention agree with!) everything you say. She’ll be utterly devoted to you and enhance your life with lovely walks and plenty of cuddles!
