3/11/2017 – Ruben has found a home – yay!
Ruben is an 8 year old mixed breed boy who is in the care of Safe Rescue in a foster home in Bloxwich, West Midlands.
What you notice first about this handsome boy is his sad eyes and big smile. He’s an old school gent who would hold doors open and pull your chair out for you if he could.
Safe Rescue told us: “He’s quiet, gentle and undemanding; he loves everyone and everything and when he smiles at you it makes your heart hurt, because he’s had a hard time. He has an old injury to his back leg that has appears to have healed without treatment – he doesn’t need anything doing to this, it has been looked at and he just needs pain relief to ease the stiffness. When his leg is aching he comes and points it at you so you can give him a rub to ease the discomfort, and then you’re rewarded with his smiles.”
Ruben walks beautifully on the lead and doesn’t need massive amounts of exercise; he just needs you to love him and make him part of your family.
He lives happily with other dogs but would be better suited to a home without very boisterous animals, simply because he doesn’t like being knocked about. He’s great with his fosterer’s children, but very small children may be too boisterous for him. He’d suit a home with older children who understand how sweet and gentle he is.
Ruben is also okay with cats, in fact he’s not interested in them at all, so could happily live with cats.
