11/01/2018 – Failed foster alert! Tommy got his paws well and truly under the table at his foster home and has proved himself indispensible. Good job Tommy!

Gorgeous boy Tommy is a German Shepherd of around 7 years. He settled into his foster home in Buckinghamshire straight away, having been rescued by 1 Dog At A Time. He wants a fairly restful home but would be fine to live with dog savvy, older children. He’s good with other dogs and after cordial introductions, he could have a doggy housemate (preferably female). He’s such a relaxed and good boy, he can even live with confident cats!

Tommy is a sweet and affectionate boy. He was found abandoned in a park in Romania, so his history is a mystery. Since arriving in the UK, it’s clear he’s been very well brought up and has lived in a loving home before. He’s house trained and made himself at home so quickly, it was as if he thought, “Ah yes – soft furnishings, warmth and a loving family. This is just right!”

He currently lives with two dogs and a cat. He gets on great with the female dog. The male isn’t keen on Tommy which might be because at the moment, Tommy is entire. He will be neutered before adoption.

Tommy did show interest in the resident cat at first, but it just looked down on him with distain and when Tommy was told to leave it, he turned away. What a Good Boy Tommy!

He walks nicely on the lead, gentleman that he is, and stays near his human even when on a long lead. He’s friendly with everyone so he’s a pleasure to take out. His trusting nature shows that he must have been well socialised in the past, which bodes well for him making the perfect, laid-back companion or family dog.

Tommy travels well in the car and as for soppiness, the rescue say he clearly doesn’t know his size as he wants to be a lap dog!
