Please say hello to this lovely fella who goes by the very unusual name of Turnip! He is a handsome Lurcher who is 7 years old and has a gorgeous big smile. He is a real fun loving boy who would love to find a home to call his own. At present, he is in the care of the Dogs Trust in Merseyside.
Sadly Turnip has been waiting for a new home for three years now! Not too much was known of this beautiful boy before he arrived at the rescue, but since then, he has shown himself to be a really friendly, and quite excitable boy who does tend to jump up at first! The rescue began with some simple reward based training and in no time he showed himself to be a very clever boy who is very quick to learn. He is never too old to learn more though, especially if he is rewarded with a tasty morsel or just a cuddle will do!
Turnip is looking for an adult only home where someone is around most of the day to keep him company. He would make an ideal companion for an active older person, a retired couple or perhaps someone who works from home who enjoys taking regular exercise. He would also be best homed where there are no other pets too.
He enjoys going for his walks, and is a good boy to walk on the lead. He would enjoy a good couple of walks with you everyday or a nice run in the park. He may also enjoy walking with another doggy friend taking in all the lovely smells along the way.
Turnip is very affectionate, he loves having cuddles and give wonderful kisses too. He is in good health for his age and is housetrained. He is ok to be left for short periods of time without any problems and is not destructive at all.
Please note: Turnip will be rehomed under the rescue’s Shared Adoption Scheme, which means any veterinary treatment he may require in the future will be paid for by the Dogs Trust. (Please contact the rescue centre for more details)
He is a fantastic boy who will bring so much love and happiness to his new home. He has been at the rescue far too long now, so if you think you could give him his wish of having a loving home of his own and would like to find out more, then please contact Dog Trust as follows:
