11/2/10 – Jet has found his new home! Wonderful news!

Here’s Jet, Scotland’s next top model, fetchingly attired in blue.  She’s a lovely lab/collie cross, around 11 years old and is currently being fostered in Ayrshire on behalf of the Blue Cross who are trying to find her a forever home.

Jet may be 11 but no one has told her – the Blue Cross describe her as 11 going on 2, extremely youthful.     She came into rescue through no fault of her own and is well trained.  She understands several commands and her recall is good.    She is full of energy and never stops.  She likes to be involved in everything you do and is great company.

Jet loves her walks, food and attention.    Her favourite toy is a ball but she likes to wrestle with the odd soft toy and she really enjoys a game of tug.    Jet is fully house trained  but, being older she does need to go more often.    She’s easy to groom, has no toy or food aggression and only chews her own toys, not the house!     She does pull slightly on the lead but some extra training would soon deal with this.   Jet is great with all other animals although she does get excited around cats.  However, in foster this is lessening as she gets used to living with a resident feline so the Blue Cross feel that she could live with a confident cat or one used to dogs.     She is happy living with dogs and with children who are old enough (8 or over) to understand how to respect an older dogs needs.  

Jet is a sweet, loving, loyal dog.    She is the ideal older dog, still full of energy but calm, patient and well behaved when needed.    She really is great company as she stays with you but keeps out from under your feet.    She would
fit in to most households and most areas as long as she was not left routinely for more than 3 hours a day.
