Wonderful Womble (Oldies Club, fostered Bucks)

We can’t understand why our lovely Womble hasn’t been offered a new home yet. He’s a 7 year old German Shepherd x Rottweiler with bags of personality and intelligence and now that he’s successfully completed his diet, he has lots of energy too. He’s currently in an Oldies Club foster home in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire. Please read all about him to see if he’s your kind of boy;
Womble’s history: Womble very nearly missed Christmas 2009. He was in an overcrowded dog pound and at risk of being put to sleep, but luckily an Oldies Club fosterer came forward to help him and he was taken home to enjoy his Christmas. It didn’t take long at all for him to settle in and he was soon enjoying the Christmas festivities.

Good in the house: Womble is 100% clean in the house and he loves having the company of his beloved humans, but doesn’t mind if he’s left for reasonable periods of time. He’s quite happy to snooze on his bed until you come home.
Good out and about: Womble loves going out and will walk to heel beautifully. He does like to say hello to other dogs though and will sometimes pull toward them. He’s quite a strong boy, so is much better if he’s walked on a halti. He’s very well behaved in the car too so wouldn’t mind accompanying his new owner on their holidays!
Great personality: Womble is a very intelligent lad and he loves anyone who is willing to give hime some fuss. He knows a few tricks and can do a “high five” and will “speak” on command. He had a trip to the groomers not long after he arrived in Oldies Club care and he behaved like a perfect gent. Here are some photos of him enjoying his bath;

Fit and well: Womble was a whopping 10kg overweight when he first arrived, but we’re very proud of him because he’s completed his diet and is now at his ideal weight. Well done Womble! He has a new lease of life now and really enjoys going out for his walks.
Great with dogs and cats: Womble has previously lived with cats and he currently shares his foster home with several other dogs, both male and female, and he gets along very well with all of them.

Spot the odd one out!
Womble’s ideal home: We don’t know anything about Womble’s past, but for some reason he can take a dislike to some young children. He therefore needs either an adult-only home or a family with teenagers. He’d be quite happy living with other dogs or being the only dog in his new home. He doesn’t mind being left alone for short periods, but will need a fairly active home where he’ll get regular walks.
Womble’s health notes: Womble is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and flea and worm treated. He had a fatty lump removed from his back leg, but has fully recovered from this.
