Simba (Greyhound Rescue West of England, fostered Herts)
14/01/2010 Beautiful Simba has gone off to his forever home – have a lovely life together, Simba and family!
Simba is a rather magnificent scruffy lurcher who is sadly in need of a loving new home at the age of 13.5 years old, after the owners who had cared for him all his life were unable to keep him.
Simba is a healthy (and very good looking) boy with no medical problems, and is still a fairly active dog. He enjoys his walks, doesn’t show any signs of tiredness after a 45 minute walk, and is currently living in a foster home with two greyhounds. He will make some lucky owner a fabulous walking companion!

He enjoys the company of other dogs, and ideally would love a home with another dog for company and people about most of the time. Simba is fine with smaller dogs, but cannot live with cats. Simba can be fairly strong on the lead if something catches his attention, and it hasn’t yet been possible to test his recall training over longer distances, so his new owners should be careful about where they let him off the lead.

Simba could live with sensible older children who understand that an older dog will sometimes need some space, but he is not used to the company of children so a home with younger ones is probably not advisable.
All GRWE dogs are neutered, vaccinated, chipped, wormed and treated for fleas. All prospective adopters will be homechecked.
Don’t be worried about insuring Simba. GRWE operates a scheme with Pet Plan insurance where you receive 4 weeks free insurance upon adoption, whatever the age of dog. If you continue with the cover after the initial 4 weeks, Simba will be covered by Pet Plan.
GRWE cover the West of England, and have homecheckers from Manchester down to Penzance.
If you are interested in adopting Simba, please contact GRWE or phone 07000 785 092. Don’t forget to mention the Oldies Club when you get in touch!
