Ozzy (Irish Retriever Rescue, fostered Notts)

21/02/2010 Great news – Ozzy has found his forever home.
This beautiful boy is Ozzy. He was rescued in Ireland for Irish Retriever Rescue and is now safe in a foster home in Nottinghamshire. As you have probably realised, Ozzy is not a retriever but he was a dog in need and the rescue came to his aid. He had been taken to the vets in Ireland after being attacked by another dog but did not have an owner to collect him and care for him.

He’s a lurcher about 8-10 years of age and is a really sweet boy. All he wants is a comfy bed in front of a fire to live out the rest of his days. He has a nice temperament and gets on well with other dogs. Ozzy has been neutered.
His fosterer says “Ozzie’s a very sweet old boy, who’s obviously had a hard time of late. The scars from his mauling testament to how he must have suffered. He’s a nice old fellow though, and very affectionate, just picking up the confidence to give you a little nudge to remind you not to stop fussing him. He gets on well with Meg (Golden Retriever) and has been no trouble at all. He’s been eating well, and seems to be enjoying the attention. He’s been left for a while with no problem, and seems house-trained. Ozzie deserves a nice home for his remaining years, and I’m sure he’ll make someone a very faithful, and loving companion. He’s certainly made a big impression on us in the short time he’s been here.”
