Poppy and Bailey (Dogs Trust, Merseyside)

1/8/2010 Bailey found a new home a few weeks ago which sadly left Poppy alone. We’re pleased to hear from Dogs Trust that Poppy now also has a forever home with an Oldies Club volunteer. A happy ending for both
—————-
Dogs Trust, Merseyside are putting out an urgent appeal to find a forever home for Boston terriers, Poppy and Bailey who came into their care because of a change in their owner’s circumstances. They’re mother and so, aged 10 and 8, and would really prefer to stick together so we’re hoping someone out there realises the advantages of having an established pair of dogs.
Bailey is a great lad and mixes well in the doggie play group. He can still be quite giddy and silly for his age but is a real sweet heart. He has longer legs than his mum and also needs a good regular brush. He is neutered.
Poppy is a sweetie but has some problems. She is blind and has been for some years but copes well and often follows Bailey’s lead. She also has some lumps on her chest but Dogs Trust feel that she really wouldn’t respond well to an anaesthetic so at the moment it’s fingers crossed. She is very happy, eats well, sleeps a lot but still loves her little potters in the doggie group. She just needs a retirement home for her, preferably with Bailey so that she doesn’t feel too lost. They do love to curl up together to go to sleep so it would be very sad to have to rehome them separately. However, it is urgent that they find a home so it is was the only choice, then Dogs’ Trust might consider splitting them up.
If you could take on this sweet old pair and give them a happy retirement, please contact Dogs Trust, Merseyside as follows:

Please mention that you saw them on the Oldies Club website.
