Snowy (Bath Cats and Dogs Home, Somerset)

“I do an angelic sit, don’t I?”
Irresistible, isn’t he? This cute little chap is Snowy, a 10 year old Terrier Cross who is in the care of Bath Cats and Dogs Home where he’s sadly been waiting for an unbelievable 3 long years!
Sadly, one of the problems is that he has never lived in a house before as he used to live outside on a farm. So, everything in a house is going to be new to him, including house-training, though he has been crate trained to help with this and also help him adapt to a new environment. Snowy will be best suited to a calm, quiet house to help him settle in. He cannot be rehomed with any other animals and definitely no dogs, visiting or otherwise!
Also, due to lack of socialisation, he is a very timid boy, and is absolutely petrified of children! He runs a mile, especially when they start running about. Despite this, Snowy is a loving, sweet, little boy who likes to have human company, though he is very calm when left alone and isn’t destructive or noisy.
Snowy is a real joy to walk on the lead – he trots happily along on his harness and doesn’t pull, but can lunge at passing dogs. He hasn’t been off-lead as his recall is non-existent at the moment. Despite his age, he’s still a fairly active dog and enjoys his walks! He would love 1 long walk or 2 shorter walks a day.
Snowy will ‘sit’ for a treat and, as he is food motivated, it shouldn’t be a problem to train him, especially for a terrier-experienced person. He may be slightly nervous of new people for the first few minutes of meeting them, but he is so easy to bond with. Once you become Snowy’s friend, you are his friend for life! Affectionate Snowy is always happy to see you and is a very loyal little lad.
Snowy has been in kennels for 3 years now and is desperate for a home to call his own. It is sad that he has spent so many years out of a loving home and, with some time, training and patience, he would make a great companion.
His special person is out there somewhere, so please get in touch if you’d like to find out more about him. Please contact Bath Cats & Dogs Home as follows:
