26/12/08 – Wonderful news … Austin has found a fabulous new home with some greyhound pals!

This handsome fellow is Austin and he’s currently in the care of Kama’s Cave, the East Anglian branch of the Retired Greyhound Trust.

Austin was born 8th Aug 1999, so he is nearly 9 years old and Kama’s Cave tell us that he’s a real star! He’s very clean in the house and all he asks for is some love and comfort for his retirement. He loves nothing more than a long snooze in front of the fire and when it comes to treat time he’ll quite happily wait his turn and is not at all pushy!

Austin has epilepsy but doesn’t need any medication for this at present. He’s only had four fits in the past two years and Kama’s Cave believe he’s improved since being kept indoors. He seems to have a faster recovery from a fit when he is cuddled and reassured, but his new owner will need to be aware that medication may be necessary sometime in the future.

Austin cannot be homed with cats or small dogs and because of his epilepsy, he would be better suited to a calm household without children. If he can find a quiet home with someone who will give him a warm, comfy bed and a daily stroll, he’ll be a very happy boy!
