Shadow (Diana Brimblecombe Animal Rescue Centre, Berks)

18/7/11 Shadow moved to DBARC from Furry Friends and has now found a home!

This is Shadow and he’s a 10 year old German Shepherd x Border Collie who is being rehomed by Diana Brimblecombe Animal Rescue Centre (DBARC) in Berkshire.

Shadow has had a hard time recently. On a number of occasions he was picked up as a stray, then reclaimed by his owners, but the last time this happened, they decided they weren’t going to reclaim him. Poor Shadow was left stressed and confused in the pound.

Shadow went to a rescue foster home where he proved to be lovely and very sweet natured. He is a cuddly old man who gets on fine with other dogs, but is quite reactive to cats.

He is now in the care of DBARC. Because of what he’s been through, Shadow is going to need an adult-only home with an experienced person who can help him settle into his new home. He can be stubborn sometimes, but a firm and understanding owner should help him blossom into a great dog.

Shadow has been neutered, microchipped, flea and worm treated and he’s had his first vaccination. Shadow is underweight at the moment and his coat is very harsh which suggests that he has probably been kept outdoors for a long period of time.

If you think you have the right sort of home for Shadow, please contact DBARC to find out more about him:

Please mention that you saw Shadow on the Oldies Club website.
