18/8/12 Sad news from South East Dog Rescue … It is with the heaviest of hearts that I tell you that Tiny, our beautiful big bear Rottweiler, has gone to the rainbow bridge. Tiny was adored here and he knew how much he was loved as he went to sleep without awakening. :(

Tiny is a gorgeous 7 year old Rottweiler boy who is being rehomed by South East Dog Rescue in Kent. He may be called Tiny, but this lovely boy has a massive heart and he adores people.

Tiny has a sad tale to tell: he is in rescue because his former family decided to replace him with a lively puppy in time for Christmas. I’m sure we’ve all heard this sad story so many times, and yet, to true dog lovers, it is unbelievable that someone could simply replace a dog they have lived with for 7 years. But replace Tiny they did.

Tiny has been in rescue since November 2010 and is still waiting for his special new people to find him. We hope that featuring him as our Old Dog of the Week will help that to happen.

When Tiny first arrived at the kennels he was very confused about why he was there and why he’d had to leave his former life. Four months on, Tiny has settled into kennel life, but kennels is no place for an older dog and he really does need to find his new home now.

Tiny wasn’t socialised with other dogs when he was younger and so, when he arrived in rescue, he didn’t like dogs. However, there is good news on this front as, although he still doesn’t like male dogs, Tiny is now fine with females and he is happily sharing a kennel with a staffy lady named Winnie. They are best pals! Tiny would therefore be happy to go to a home either where there is a friendly female for company, or as an only dog.

Tiny absolutely adores people and lives for cuddles and fuss. It’s so sad that such an affectionate lad has ended up in rescue. He isn’t used to living with children but should be fine in a home with children aged 12+ years. He isn’t used to living with cats so needs a cat-free home.

Tiny doesn’t need long walks but he still enjoys a gentle stroll. He’d love a nice garden to relax in too. He is a little wobbly on his back legs but he doesn’t need any medication for this at present. Tiny is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, deflead and wormed.

This handsome old lad isn’t asking for much. Just cuddles, a short daily stroll and someone who will love him for the rest of his life.

Can I live with you for the rest of my life?
