Suzie (Kamas Cave, South Lincs)

2/12/08 – Suzie has found a lovely new home!
—
Suzie is a beautiful older greyhound who is currently in the care of Kamas Cave, the East Anglian branch of the Retired Greyhound Trust.
This lovely girl has lived with the same family for the past four years, but sadly they decided to rehome her following the arrival of a new baby. Suzie arrived with her friend Lola, who now has a new home to go to.
Suzie is 7 years old and is used to being left alone with no problems. She’s clean in the house and great with children, but can’t live with cats or small animals. She loves fuss and attention and is used to a typical greyhound lifestyle of lounging around all day!
Although Suzi has previously lived with another greyhound, she can be choosy about her doggie friends. She’d therefore prefer to be the only dog in her new home; that way she can have all the fuss and attention to herself!

Suzie recently joined a walkies day at Kamas Cave and this is what her walker had to say about her…
My heart goes out to this girl; she’s so delicate and fragile. She travelled fine, preferring to stand all the way with a little whimpering to go with it. She walks perfectly on the lead, almost as if she’s on automatic pilot. She didn’t sniff her surroundings or look around, she had nothing to do with other dogs and didn’t engage with us at all. She accepted fuss from us, but no great reactions seen.
Back at the house, she had a cursory sniff around and quickly settled herself on the dog bed by the French doors. I left her there and she didn’t move until we went back to the kennels; it seemed to be all she wanted. She was probably a bit wet and cold from the walk, but it was as if she had no spirit left. She didn’t want to investigate the garden or rest of the kitchen; she just wasn’t bothered. I think the longer this girlie is in kennels, the more downhill she will go. She’s going to need a quiet home with a patient, loving family and a big, soft sofa.
Suzie is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated and has recently had her teeth cleaned.
