13/9/12 - Max has found a home!
Max is a gorgeous German Shepherd boy who is thought to be 7 years old. He is being rehomed by Cefni German Shepherd Rescue and is kennelled in South Yorkshire.
Max’s story is a very sad one: his owner died and, when the Police broke in, they found Max. It isn’t know how long he had been waiting, poor lad. Max’s world has been turned upside down, but he’s already proving himself to be a lovely dog who will make a wonderful companion. Here are two short videos of him playing ball in his kennel.
As you can see, Max is very ball orientated. He responds and plays well with a ball, and he knows Sit, Lie down and Leave. He’s a quick learner too. He greets everyone with a bark and a wag of his tail.
As Cefni have no history on Max, they advise that Max’s new owners will need to be prepared take one step at a time, gradually getting to know his character, and not rush into any situation.
Max is interested in other dogs and he will bark at them. He’d be best as the only dog in his new home. It isn’t know whether he’s used to cats so he needs a cat-free home too. He is under assessment with children but could probably live with ones aged 6+, so long as they are large dog savvy.
Max isn’t yet neutered. Cefni have a strict policy that dogs must be neutered within one month of adoption. He will be microchipped prior to adoption. Max has some grotty teeth and will need to have these cleaned after he is adopted – in the meantime he is having rope toys and treats to try to help clean them.
Max’s owner clearly loved him, and he has been well looked after as his coat is in pretty good condition. He will just need a good brush and a bath. Overall he’s a lovely boy and will thrive in a new home.
