Goldie (Chilterns Dog Rescue Society, Herts)

26.10.12 – Lovely Goldie has found a new home.
———————–
Beautiful Goldie is a dog of the desert, having been born in Dubai and having lived in the Middle East most of her life. She was rescued as a young dog by an organisation run by expats and adopted by a British couple living and working in the Middle East. She is now 12 years old, and a beautiful lady who resembles a Golden Retriever.
She is back in the UK and in the care of Chilterns Dog Rescue Society. She was with her companion, Ollie, but Ollie was in very poor health and has sadly had to be put to sleep. Goldie is now on her own and desperate for a new home.

Goldie is an adaptable, sociable dog. She is used to company most of the day and is comfortable around visiting children of all ages. She travels well by car and air but can be excitable around cats. She is very fit and active for her age.
Goldie has led an exciting life, travelling around the Middle East with her former owners. Unfortunately, however, the wife was diagnosed with cancer and returned to England with her husband last summer to be close to family and friends. Goldie and Ollie were kennelled in Qatar before coming back to England via Belgium.
Goldie was a gentle and faithful companion to her owner right up until her death earlier this month. Work commitments meant her husband had to return abroad to work and so Goldie finds herself in the care of CDRS in the hope of that a quiet retirement home can be found for her – she certainly deserves it.
