Bright Busy Buzz (Oldies Club, fostered South Wales)

9/9/12 Buzz has gone to his new home! :)

—————-

Buzz is a sweet little 13 year old Yorkshire Terrier boy who came into Oldies Club care after the death of his owner. He is in an Oldies Club foster home in Newport, South Wales, waiting for someone to offer him a permanent home.

Good in his foster home: Buzz settled quite quickly and has been clean and well behaved in the house. He doesn’t like to be shut in a room, but his foster carer has had no problem with letting him have the run of the house. Most nights, he has chosen to sleep downstairs in the kitchen with the door open. He likes to sleep on the floor rather than on a dog bed.

Likes company but can be left for a few hours: Buzz enjoys being with you, but he is fine to be left for up to about 3 hours. He has been fast asleep each time his foster carer has returned home, and he then gets very excited to see her.

Good with dogs and cats: Buzz is good with dogs and would be happy to live with another quiet dog. He would also be happy to live as an only dog and would make an ideal companion. Buzz is cat-friendly too.

Would prefer a home without children: Buzz is used to having a quiet life so wouldn’t want to live with children. However he might be OK with older teenagers.

Loves walks: Buzz is fit and lively for his age and loves to go out for walks at any opportunity. He gets really excited when he sees his lead. He walks very well on the lead, and off lead he is a good boy and doesn’t stray too far away from you.

Good in the car: Buzz travels well in the car.

Buzz’s perfect home: Buzz’s ideal home would be with older people where he can have a quiet life with nice walks. He would make a lovely companion in that situation.

Health notes: Buzz has been vaccinated, wormed and flea treated and he will be neutered and microchipped soon.

Foster carer’s summary of Buzz:He is quite an independent little character and is not what I would say a lap dog. He likes his cuddles but will jump down when he has had enough. For a little dog he has a very good appetite and loves his food. He is not at all fussy and will eat almost anything. He will attach himself to his new family and give you plenty of love.

If you can offer Buzz a permanent home, please refer to our Adoption Procedures for information about the adoption process. You can then contact an Oldies Club rehoming co-ordinator as follows:

Email: rehome@oldies.org.uk
Telephone: 0844 586 8656

Buzz can be rehomed anywhere in the UK, subject to a satisfactory home visit, but note that you will be required to travel to the foster home to meet him.

If you would love to offer a home to an oldie but your circumstances aren’t suitable, perhaps you would be kind enough to sponsor one of the special oldies we are caring for that, due to health problems, are unlikely to be offered a permanent home.
