Mollie (Halfway Home Dog Rescue, Notts)

5/1/13 Mollie has found a lovely new home.

——————–

Mollie is a 5 year old Akita girl who was taken into the care of Halfway Home Dog Rescue after spending a few months on death row in the pound.   As Mollie is blind in one eye she had been overlooked and left to die but luckily Halfway Home rescued her just in time.

Mollie is such a sweetheart, she’s a very gentle, placid and calm girl and doesn’t let her loss of sight in one eye affect her, although she was sad and a bit bewildered when she first arrived. Although she is microchipped, efforts to trace her owner have so far failed, perhaps because of her injured eye they no longer wanted her?

Mollie has gone into a foster home with another dog and her foster mum says that she is a super dog who is lovely in the home.  When she first arrived she did try to pick up the cat but she stopped immediately when told a firm “No” !   Because of her size and partial blindness, she might be best suited to a home without really young children – but she is great with people and will make someone a lovely companion.
