Murphy (Private rehoming, Warwickshire)

17/3/09 We are delighted to hear that Murphy has found a wonderful new home. We hope he will be very happy there!
——————–
Little Murphy’s home circumstances had changed and he was having to visit various houses to be cared for whilst his mum was at work. The upheaval and uncertainty had upset this sweet lad so much that his owner decided to find Murphy a new home where he will be happy.
——————–
Murphy is a 12 year old Jack Russell boy who is being rehomed privately by his owner because his home environment has changed a lot in recent years and he has gone from 4 people being around to just having his mum. His mum has to work full time and so Murphy now has to visit different houses while his mum is out.
Murphy does not like being left alone, and has developed separation anxiety. He needs a new home with a stable environment; somewhere he can feel settled again. His owner is sure that someone with time and patience can help him overcome this fear so that he will be able to be left again for short periods.
He would be an ideal companion; he likes nothing more than to lie by your side or at your feet. He is very good with older people, he is very loving would thrive in a new home with someone with time and patience. He is a good guard dog, and like all Jack Russell’s will bark and let you know when anyone is around. He is quite a character, he loves to lick your ears as a greeting. If you leave a slipper around you will usually find him asleep with his nose snuggled inside!
Murphy is happy with other dogs as long as they are calm and do not crowd his space. When he is off his lead he loves to play with other dogs. He loves going for walks, long or short and he walks well on a lead. He goes off his lead over fields but he needs to be kept on a lead by roads. He does not like fireworks and loud noises. He will travel in a car but gets very anxious when he gets in and out in case he gets left behind. He has not had any experience of living with a cat.
He is fine with children but probably wouldn’t want to live with very young ones.
He is neutered and microchipped, generally in good health although recently he had a skin problem and blood tests revealed that he has some liver function deterioration through old age; he does not require any special food or medication.
