Sweet Sally Retriever (Oldies Club, fostered Gloucestershire)

19/2/13 Sally has gone to her new home!

———-

Sally is a sweet and beautiful 12 year old Golden Retriever girl who came into Oldies Club care after a relationship breakup. Sally is in an Oldies Club foster home in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, waiting for someone to offer her a permanent home.

Well-behaved in the home: Sally settled at her foster within a few days. She is fine to be left alone in the home and her foster carer has left her for up to 5 hours with no problems.

Good with calm, older dogs: Sally is shy with dogs at first but she does enjoy their company. She could probably live with older dogs but she would need her own space. She doesn’t like being hassled too much by younger dogs and just barks at them!

Needs a cat-free home: Sally chases cats, so she can’t live with them.

Excellent with children: Sally is good with children of all ages. She has been very good with her foster carer’s 3 year old nieces, and she enjoys a fuss.

Enjoys gentle walks: Sally walks very slowly and is happy with 3 short (½ mile) walks per day. Her recall is very good.

Tolerates car travel: Sally doesn’t like the car but she will go in it. She needs lifting in.

Sally’s favourite pastimes: Eating; Sleeping; Playing with her bone; Rolling around on the carpet!

Sally’s dislikes: She’s scared of loud noises.

Sally’s perfect home: Someone who doesn’t want to walk much but likes to get out for a potter about. Sally likes attention but is also independent, so although she would enjoy someone being around a lot of the time, she could be homed with someone who works.

Health notes: Sally is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, wormed and flea treated. She has some arthritis in her hips and she is on pain medication for this which will be ongoing.

Foster carer’s summary of Sally:She’s a very sweet, faithful, loving dog who will be an asset in anyone’s home“.

Sally can be rehomed anywhere in the UK, subject to a satisfactory home visit, but note that you will be required to travel to the foster home to meet her.

If you would love to offer a home to an oldie but your circumstances aren’t suitable, perhaps you would be kind enough to sponsor one of the special oldies we are caring for that, due to health problems, are unlikely to be offered a permanent home.
