12/4/13 – Gorgeous Fili has found a home!
—————————————————

This absolutely gorgeous and happy face belongs to Fili, a wonderful 9 year old crossbreed boy who has recently made the trip from Romania to the UK to start a new life. He is living in a foster home through Safe Rescue until he can find a home of his own where he can be loved and cherished as he deserves.

Poor Fili has had a very difficult time this last 18 months. He was hit by a car and left on the roadside in Romania, injured and in pain. Luckily, he was rescued and then spent over a year in a clinic, trying to regain the use of his legs. This was a very difficult time for him and he was almost put to sleep due to his condition deteriorating so badly. But because of his sheer determination, he survived and is now so much stronger. He still has difficulty with his back legs, but he is improving all the time. His co-ordination needs some work and he needs very short walks to help him build up his muscles and increase his co-ordination. He currently walks with the aid of a harness that has a belly strap to help hold up his back end. He is not incontinent.

Despite all he has been through, Fili is a delight. He is clean in the house, but does have the occasional accident when he can’t get out soon enough. He is good with other dogs and was okay when exposed to cats. Because he is still recovering it would be best for him not to live with young boisterous dogs (or young children), although at the moment he is sharing his foster home with a two year old dog and they love to play together, as well as he is able. He also lives with two female dogs and gets on well with all of them.

Fili is a happy soul, very loving and an absolute delight. Everyone who meets him is both charmed and amazed by him. His sweet nature and his funny little excited dance charms people, and his sheer determination to get to where he wants to be, amazes them. Who knows what his life was prior to his accident, but whatever it was hasn’t dampened his spirit or broken his trust in people.

Fili deserves to have a wonderful life with a special person or family. He needs someone who will be around a lot, and able to lift him if he gets stuck getting up the stairs. He has just started playing and likes to have a good chew on a toy, or a little play with a ball.

Fili is a very handsome boy, full of character and love. There is absolutely nothing that you couldn’t love about this dog – he is truly fabulous.

Fili is currently on Loxicam for his legs and may need to be on this for some time but other than that he is fine. Some canine massage and hydrotherapy would benefit him if that was possible. He has been neutered and has his own passport. He is just waiting for that special person to find him.

Is that special person you? If so, please contact Kelly at Safe Rescue as follows:

Please mention that you saw Fili on the Oldies Club website.
