28/2/13 Bess has found a new home with her best friend Danny.

This beautiful girl is Bess and she would like to introduce herself in her own words!

‘Hello, my name is Bess. I’m a very loving 14 year old Labrador cross looking for a new home as my owner passed away. Some very kind people took care of me and my friend Danny until we found rescue space at National Animal Welfare Trust.

I’m a very outgoing girl who loves people. I will gladly sit with you for hours receiving any attention you can give me. My previous owner was at home most of the time so although I can be left, as I generally just sleep, I would prefer it if my new owner could be at home with me as well.

I have lived with all sorts of other animals in my old home including another dog, many cats and a variety of birds. I could happily share my home with all of them again as I am so laid back about everything.

I am currently overweight and on a diet because of this. It doesn’t stop me from enjoying a couple of short walks a day though. I am slowly increasing the time I am up and about for but I will not need to be walked for miles in my new home.

I can get on the sofa and love to cuddle up to people. All the volunteers and staff here at Trindledown enjoy stopping at my room for a sneaky cuddle since I’m just so good at giving them! Sometimes I can take a moment or two to notice you are there as I am quite deaf and my eyesight is failing a bit.

I could live with children as I am very careful with them but since I would like a quieter home I would prefer them to be older kids. I could cope with visiting young children though.’
