2.6.13  Wonderful news – beautiful Astra has found her forever home.

This beautiful long coated German Shepherd girl is Astra.  She’s around 8 years old and currently in the care of  German Shepherd Rescue, West Essex.

Astra is a well trained, calm and gentle - a big cuddly bear.  She came into rescue as a stray having been found in a children’s playground being petted by hoardes of children.  She is such a good dog - so much so that the rescue have used her as an assessor dog and she has helped other dogs who were anxious in the rescue kennels.

She loves cuddles and any affection and would suit most home environments.    She’s fine with children and other dogs and can be cat tested in necessary.  She is housetrained and can be left alone for up to 4 hours maximum;  she is not destructive or vocal when left. She travels well in the car.

Astra has lots of good training already in place, walking nicely on lead, she knows ‘sit and stay’, ‘down’, ‘come’ and ‘leave’, her recall is also good. She is very gentle when accepting a treat.    Her overall temperament is superb; she is just a gentle, kind, calm and friendly dog. Her general health is good and she shows no signs of arthritis or hip dysplasia.

Are you looking for your very own B.F.G?   Then please do consider this Big Friendly Giant!    If you’d like to visit her at the kennels, you won’t be disappointed as she is a smashing dog and has clearly previously had a good home.
