Betty (Angels without Wings, Cambridgeshire)

11/2/2014 Little  Betty has now gone to her forever home and even has a new name: “Belle”.  It looks like Belle will spend the rest of her days in comfort and with love, and we are so delighted for her. A special thank you to her wonderful adopter.

…and we have just received these lovely photos of Betty/Belle in her new home.

Update: 26/1/2014 It seems that Betty has found her “angel” and hopefully she will be going to her new home in February. Some wonderful person has offered Betty the most lovely home, after seeing her on the Oldies Club website, and we are hoping that it will work out for them both. Watch this space!

Is there an angel out there who could help by adopting this poor little dog? Betty has had the most awful existence so far and Angels Without Wings, who are a small volunteer run rescue based in Cambridgeshire, are just hoping someone will come along and offer her some happiness.

Betty is a female Collie cross, who is around 7 years old. She had been knocked over by a car and left, and following that she was chained up with only the underneath an old car for shelter. Betty is so grateful to be in foster, where she can have some home comforts, probably for the first time in her little life.

Because of her accident, Betty is disabled and her back legs are deformed. However, she can still get around and is rather jaunty in her movements, requiring little exercise, just a garden to mooch around in at her leisure. The accident also left Betty with some incontinence and she usually wears a dog nappy.

Despite everything Betty has been through, she always seems to be happy and smiling. She loves a cuddle and has adapted very well to home life. Betty can live with older children, and cats, and she is currently sharing her foster home with a variety of different dogs of all shapes and sizes.

Angels Without Wings know that it won’t be easy to find Betty a new home, but please don’t turn your back on her just because of her disabilities. She deserves so much more than that.
