Leila (Chilterns Dog Rescue Society, Herts)

8/4/2013 Good news that Leila has found a lovely new home.

Please meet Leila. She is a seven and a half year old, black Collie X Retriever type bitch. She has lived in a home with a number of other dogs and in a home as an only dog. Regrettably, neither owner was able to meet her needs (she is much more like a Collie than a Retriever) – and she has now been brought to the Chilterns Dog Rescue Society to be properly assessed and matched to a home where she can finally settle.

Leila is a very attractive, friendly dog with a good standard of basic obedience and lots of energy. Leila is highly intelligent and very willing to please; she is happiest with a handler who makes all the decisions for her rather than someone who just lets her muddle along.

In the past, she was put in a situation where she was atacked by another dog but has got over this experience and mixes well with other dogs. She may be inclined to chase cats and other small pets, so would be best suited to a home without these distractions. She is used to living with children.

Leila is very fit and active and has no known health issues. She has been spayed.

After so many false starts that have been no fault of her own, it is really important that things go right for Leila now and she is matched to a home for life. Could you be the right person for Leila?
