18/12/17 – Dave has found his new home!
Safe Rescue‘s latest offering David (Dave to his friends) is practically a puppy for this site at only 3 years old but his former tough life in Romania and the misadventure in which he lost a front leg have made him wise beyond his years. He’s currently in foster with several other dogs and children in Norwich.
Safe Rescue say, “Dave is a three year old, three legged, German Shepherd cross. We met David back in June when we visited Romania and he charmed us there and then. Sadly he couldn’t come here at that time because he was tested positive for heartworm. Five hundred pounds and three months of treatment later and he is now clear of the parasite and fit for adoption.”
“Dave is not enjoying life in his multi dog foster home and would be much better suited to a home as an only dog or maybe one other that he could relax around in time. Dave is OK with my dog savvy children and enjoys a fuss and a cuddle but can be a bit of a worrier and rowdiness and overzealous children would make him very uncomfortable.
“My most favourite thing about David is his delight at running and playing on grass. I think that being cooped up in a pen for so long has really made him appreciate something so simple. He’s like a kid at a disco running and skidding across the dance floor! Every few steps he throws himself on the floor and rolls around on his back grinning like a plonker….. it’s so endearing and really makes you appreciate how little these dogs really do ask out of life.
“Dave is house trained and happy to be left home alone for a while with no issues. This boy loves his walks and doesn’t let the loss of a leg hold him back at all. His charisma and enthusiasm for life is quite infectious and he will bring a smile on the gloomiest of days…. he just needs a loving home”
