Paddy (RSPCA Tameside & Glossop, fostered Manchester)

29/03/17 – Paddy has been adopted having been seen featured as Oldies Club’s Old Dog of the Week! And there was much rejoicing!

Paddy is a gorgeous 9 year old American Bulldog boy who is in the care of RSPCA Tameside & Glossop Branch because his owner became homeless.

Please share Paddy’s page to help him get noticed!

Paddy is currently in a foster home and his foster carers say that he is an absolute darling who is very good and quiet. He is fine to be left on his own for a few hours and he would be happy to live with a part-time worker.

It’s hard to believe that Paddy hasn’t found a home yet, as he’s a really lovely dog who gets along fine with dogs, and he can live with older children.

Paddy is a very calm and gentle boy who absolutely loves cuddles. He also enjoys having regular walks, but he likes to take them sedately and just plod along between his favourite sniffing stops. He’s a very good boy on the lead.

He might be a plodder, but Paddy still has plenty of energy for a good game of ball, and you can see happy Paddy in this video, demonstrating how he enjoys playing with other dogs:

Paddy is good with dogs he meets on walks and, as you saw in the video, he enjoys playing chase with a doggy friend. He would be happy to live with a nice calm female dog in his new home, or possibly a calm male dog, so long as they got along well when they met. He’s not been cat-tested so needs a home without cats.

Paddy is a sweet, placid boy who is good with children, but he is pretty solidly built, so children in his new home would need to be aged 8 years and over. He loves to make you happy and he enjoys giving kisses, especially in return for treats!

Paddy is neutered. He has daily medication for a touch of arthritis, but the RSPCA is offering to pay for the medication for the rest of his life.

Paddy’s foster Mum told us: “Paddy isn’t an old looking dog and he doesn’t really behave like one. Although he is a quiet, unassuming and accepting boy, he can also have fun running around the garden during his crazy moments. Paddy doesn’t pull on the lead… unless he sees a squirrel! I really want a great home for our Paddy. He is just wonderful and so loving. I always shower him with kisses and he loves it!
