Franky (RADAR Dog Rescue, South Yorkshire)

Please help Franky by sharing this page!

At RADAR Dog Rescue in Rotherham, Yorkshire, Franky the 7 year old Greyhound cross is a firm favourite with volunteers. He’s got to know them all since he arrived 2 years ago and to know Franky, is to love him!

He’s looking for an adult only home with no small pets. He generally gets on with other dogs of about the same size as him. RADAR are looking for either a forever home or even just a foster home for Franky (in the Sheffield /Rotherham /Barnsley areas) to get him out of kennels. He makes the most of things but it’s high time he had some proper home comforts.

Franky is obedient as well as affectionate, so he’s a pleasure to walk. He loves to run around off lead and play with his ball. An owner with breed experience would be best for him, as he was a working dog in the past.

You will need to be able to visit him a few times to form a bond with him before formally applying to be his new best friend. But it’ll be well worth it!

Franky gets overlooked because when new people approach his kennel he will bark at them. However, as soon as he’s out and introduced he’s just a lovely boy!

Once he’s had a couple of walkies with you, he’s all affection and cuddles. He’s ever so keen to please (especially if you have treats) and will practically bend over backwards to prove how good he is!

You can imagine how heartbreaking it is for volunteers to have to return Franky to his kennel once his time with them is up. Being a Good Boy, he just waits there patiently until the next time. Finding a real home, whether it’s foster or permanent, will turn Franky from this…

…to this!
