It’s so sad that Clive spent so many years in shelters that there’s no record of how he even came there, suffering a life that’s so awful. Since that time, Safe Rescue have stepped in to help and Clive is still one of around 30 that are still not in a forever home.
Clive is an 8 – 9 year old Crossbree with probably some German Shepherd in the mix. He is now in the UK in a foster home in Norfolk where he’s beginning to blossom from the poor lad that got buried under all the shelter existence to now showing interest and pleasure in the world around him on walks.
Clive is still very shy and unsure about humans, but he is learning steadily and accepting human hands well. It is so good to witness the depression lift and see him open up to the pleasures that being a domestic dog entails. He will continue to improve in his foster home, but what he really needs to bloom is an environment with less dogs than there are in his current foster home; ideally, one or two other confident dogs to show him the ropes, but enough human attention to allow him more regular interactions with his new human family.
It’s clear to see that this boy has huge potential and who knows maybe he even had a home all those years ago. The years of cruelty and hardship at the Mizil shelter may have made him cautious of humans, but it hasn’t broken his spirit entirely and he’s in there just waiting to be freed by a kind and patient person.
Clive is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.
