Smith is an 8-year-old Jack Russell Terrier boy who is with National Animal Welfare Trust in Hayle, Cornwall. He needs to be rehomed within Cornwall due to numerous visits being required as part of NAWT’s standard rehoming process.
Smith is a clever little chap, full of fun and energy, and he loves soft squeaky toys, learning new tricks and doing BIG zoomies (running as fast as his little legs can go)! He is guaranteed to make you laugh.
Smith’s ideal home will be with one single owner who has Jack Russell experience or experience of nervous rescue dogs generally. He needs a home without children but he could possibly live with other dogs. He needs a home without cats.
Once he has settled at his new home Smith should be fine to be left for up to 5-6 hours when you need to go out. He will need lots of exercise, so good walks are a must. Smith creates strong bonds with his person, but it takes time and patience so you will need to do lots of visits to the Centre so that Smith can get to know you well before going home with you.
Once he has bonded with his new person, Smith is likely to become over-protective, and he is quite a nervous boy who can be hand-shy. He responds best to calm, kind and gentle handling.
Could you offer this smart little chap his ideal new home?
