Sydney (Adopt a Dog North East, Sunderland)

Sydney is a 7 year old Lurcher who arrived with Adopt a Dog North East in Sunderland (who currently don’t have a website for us to link to) in a terribly emaciated state. We have seen photos of just how close to death he was, and they are too upsetting for us to include on our website.

Sydney has lived a horrendous life and was starved almost to death. He was so badly emaciated that his hip and spinal bones were protruding through his skin and the wounds were infected. But Sydney doesn’t want you to focus on his sad past: he wants you to focus on giving him a very happy future!

In his foster home, Sydney gradually gained weight and could then have his wounds operated on in order to surgically close them. He still needs to gain a little more weight.

Sydney is covered in scars and has a torn ear, however this has not stopped this sweetheart from utterly adoring humans and being the most affectionate, loving boy the rescue has rehabilitated.

Sydney needs a home where is not left too long, so either a retired home, ideally, or with a part-time worker. He will be an affectionate and loyal dog as your constant companion and you need to be happy for him to share the sofa, as he loves his home comforts. He is currently living in a foster home with multiple dogs. He is good with children but needs a home without cats.

Sydney is now used to travelling, in the rescue van, in a crate. He only needs moderate exercise.

Could you offer this beautiful, gentle creature the kind and loving home he thoroughly deserves?
