Bugsy & Tally (RSPCA West Hatch, Somerset)

Bugsy (male) and Tally (female) are 9-year-old Lurchers who need a new home together. They are at RSPCA West Hatch near Taunton in Somerset.

Tally

Bugsy and Tally arrived at RSPCA West Hatch in an appalling condition. They had open wounds, severely damaged mouths and Tally has part of her nose missing. Sadly, they were abandoned in Wales and no-one came forward with information. They have both had multiple operations and are finally able to find the forever home they deserve so much.

This lovely pair are inseparable. Bugsy is the more playful of the two, while Tally is a reserved lady who prefers to spend much of her day lounging on a comfy sofa. They are spotlessly clean and are fine travelling. Both walk well on the lead and enjoy a potter – although don’t seem too bothered about going for long walks. Both dogs have a very strong prey drive, so are not able to be let off the lead in public. Bugsy is used to wearing a muzzle, but Tally is still learning, however, this is something they will need to wear at all times when out. Because they are not able to be off lead on their walks, they are looking for a home with a secure garden where they can potter about and do the odd zoomie!

Although extremely loyal and affectionate once he knows you, Bugsy has a tendency to guard his home and garden against people he does not know well. Therefore his introductions to people entering the property will need to be very carefully managed to avoid a situation where he could nip someone. Because he does have this tendency, West Hatch are looking for an adult only home, with a secure back garden that people will not be able to walk into unexpectedly.

This adorable pair are looking for a home together where they are the only pets. They do not mind being left alone at all – in fact are quite happy to sprawl around in the offices while people come and go. Both dogs may need further dental work which West Hatch can carry out at the Centre. Due to this, Bugsy and Tally can be rehomed on a foster basis initially and then with an agreement to carry out any further work once adopted for Tally. The rescue’s vet is happy to speak to anyone who is interested in adopting these sweethearts.

Please note, RSPCA West Hatch are still doing much of their rehoming remotely via photos, email and video footage.
