Niko (Friends of Akitas, kennelled Notts.)

Please help Niko by sharing this page!

Ta-da! Niko is a beautiful Akita boy of 7-8 years who’s in the care of Friends Of Akitas at kennels in Nottinghamshire due to his previous owner’s change in circumstances. Even kennel life can’t suppress his happy nature and it shines through every day!

Niko is looking for either an adult-only home or one where any children are over the age of 12 and used to large dogs. He’s said to be good with children but has never lived with any. Similarly, he walks nicely with other dogs at the kennels but wants his own space at home so he needs to be an only pet.

Niko is a very loving boy. He enjoys a fuss and a cuddle! He’s never got the hang of playing with toys but he likes to play chase with his human friends and loves being outside in general. Especially in the snow!

Niko really loves his walks. He’s good on the lead but can get a bit giddy at times. He’s usually so excited just before going out he will tell you so, as if he’s saying, “Come on, lead clipped on harness let’s get out there and explore! Woop!”.

He’s a very good boy and never more so than when there are treats in your pocket. It’s all waggy tail, sitting nicely and a please paw when there are tasty rewards on offer.

Niko is well behaved in the house, always clean and tidy. He’s good in the car too. He’ll watch out the window for the first 10 minutes then settle down and sleep. Got to be well rested for the adventure at the other end!

Niko is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped and ready to find his fun-loving forever humans. He certainly deserves to as he’s a delightful dog!
