Tye (Rescue Remedies, West Sussex)

Tye is an American Bulldog who is about 10 years old. He is with Rescue Remedies, in boarding kennels near Gatwick, West Sussex.

Handsome Tye arrived as an emergency as he had been booked in to be put to sleep. Rescue Remedies know that he was in one home for 8 years and then for whatever reason moved to another family for 2 months. He was walked by a lady and was at her home and sitting between her and her daughter. Tye suddenly turned and caught the girl’s face, not viciously done. No treatment was required, but the new owner didn’t want Tye back and so he was booked in to be put to sleep.

Tye is a nervous boy and he was bewildered by the sudden and upsetting changes in his life. He needs a child-free home with people who will understand his sensitive nature and help him to gain confidence in his own time.

A Rescue Remedies volunteer said: ”I had a lovely time in the paddock with Tye yesterday. In fact he was quite a busy boy and was happy to stay out longer and explore more today than usual. In the paddock he did some yoga (downward dog is his signature pose) played ball, enjoyed some cuddles and generally chilled out. In the smaller paddock he was delighted to see Laila the other side of the fence in the big paddock and enjoyed chasing her up and down along the fence, doing play bows for her if she stopped running.

And: “I had the pleasure of Tye’s company today. He came straight up to say hello when I went to greet him at his kennel door. He gently took a piece of cheese and then stood back to let me enter. I knelt down and Tye was keen to check me out, sniff the leads and take another couple of bits of cheese. He then sat politely while I clipped on leads and we headed out. Tye walked ahead of me, with a taut lead but not pulling. He likes to take his time having a sniff here and a sniff there. He is super responsive to anything asked of him, I was very impressed. He happily let me gently guide him around the woods, down the lane, along the main road and back through the woods. What a gentle, sweet boy.

Could you offer gorgeous Tye a child-free home and be understanding of his sensitive nature?

Note: Rescue Remedies have specific on-lead requirements for their adopted dogs. They also cannot guarantee to reply to unsuccessful homing applications.
