Aura is a large girl, an 8-year-old Carpathian Shepherd cross, rescued from Romania, currently in a foster home in Chelmsford, Essex, with The Paw Project.
Gorgeous Aura is a very affectionate girl with a big personality. She needs a quietish, adult-only home with patient, dog-experienced people. She is fine to be left for a few hours and takes the opportunity to enjoy some peace and quiet. Aura is good with other dogs and is happily sharing her foster home with a dog. She needs a cat-free home.
Aura needs access to a garden to enjoy, plus a daily walk or two. She can tolerate about 20-30 minutes walking without tiring, or up to 1 hour with frequent breaks. She is friendly with other dogs when out on walks, but might pull to go to say hello. For car journeys she needs a little help getting into the car but then settles after a while.
Aura is toilet trained and knows some commands. She can be an extremely affectionate lady and gives the best big, fluffy hugs! She does have some food guarding issues but this has improved massively. She must be fed separately from other dogs and she will need to not be present when her food bowl is picked up. Chicken doesn’t seem to agree with Aura, so any food containing chicken is to be avoided.
She is a very clever girl and knows how to sit and wait. She knows the word gentle and is currently learning road-wait for walks. She is also starting to walk better on the lead and is learning to stop pulling. Aura would benefit from a quiet home to assist her with further training.
Healthwise, Aura has some age-related general stiffness. She has been spayed and is fully vaccinated, flead, wormed, spayed, and brucellosis, leishmaniasis and 4DX tested.
The Paw Project ask fosterers and adopters to meet at a halfway point. Full rescue backup is provided and a homecheck and adoption fees apply.
