Barney (Freshfields Animal Rescue, Liverpool)

Please help Barney by sharing this page!

Adorable Barney is a 10-year-old Crossbreed boy who’s seeking either a forever or a foster home through Freshfields Animal Rescue in Liverpool. He’s a timid lad and takes a while to trust so a few visits are needed to build up a bond. He’s very stressed in kennels and has lost weight because of it. That’s why fostering is a possibility, to help get him into a home environment ASAP.

Barney needs a quiet home with not many comings and goings, no other pets and no children as he’s easily alarmed by sudden things. It will probably take him a while to relax in his new home and needs to be allowed to come out of his shell at his own pace. Treats will certainly help!

Poor Barney is easily spooked so he needs a secure garden. He wants an owner or two who are practical and considerate about his anxieties, such as his fear of being grabbed. There’s obviously some history there but he’s such a loving boy once he’s calm and realises you’re kind. The staff at Freshfields have all fallen for his charms and know he has a lot of love to offer.

If you can give Barney the safety, fusses and fun he deserves, whether permanently or as a foster placement, please contact Freshfields Animal Rescue as follows:
