Could you Foster A Terrier?

Oldies Club regularly gets calls asking for help with old terriers – Yorkies, Jack Russell Terriers, West Highland Terriers and Cairn Terriers and crosses of these breeds are all popular dogs. Many of these are dogs that have come from elderly owners who have died or had to go into long term care, leaving their dogs with nowhere to go.

Often they are used to being the only dog in the household and sometimes they can be a little feisty, as terriers often are! We would love to hear from experienced terrier owners who can look after them, all vet bills paid, while we look for permanent homes. (And don’t worry – if you do fall in love with your foster dog, we always give the fosterer the choice to adopt!)

We particularly need people who are prepared to foster terriers that are not used to living with cats, people with no other dogs, or people who are prepared to foster a pair of terriers who have always lived together.

Our current fosterers are an amazing group of people – between them they have helped hundreds of dogs find their forever homes.

Want to do something amazing? please email fosterrecruit@oldies.org.uk to find out more!

Unfortunately we are rarely able to use fosterers who are full time workers or people with very young children.
