5/9/07 – Oldies Club are very sad to announce that Pretty Pippa has had to be put to sleep today. She took a turn for the worse and under the vets advice it was kinder to let her go. Sleep tight pretty girl!

Update 23/8/2007: Pippa has been found to be suffering from late stage dementia; she is also deaf and may be going blind. Due to these conditions, little Pippa has become a barker.

She has been prescribed some medication to attempt to help her and it seems to be offering a little improvement. Thankfully she has given has given us a glimmer of hope today by wagging her tail and showing some interest in life.

We do not know how long Pippa is likely to have left but she is no longer available to be rehomed and will be cared for in an Oldies Club foster home for her remaining time.

If you would like to help us care for Pippa, read about our sponsor scheme.

Pippa is a 13 year old Collie x Lurcher. She has come into the care of the Oldies Club as her owners are emigrating. Pippa is in an Oldies Club foster home.

Sweet Pippa loves people and will make someone a great companion. Pippa can be left with no problems (so long as no bins are accessible!) and she gives you the most enthusiastic welcome when you return home and, of course, expects a treat for being a good girl.

Pippa has lost the excess weight she arrived with. She is quite lively and energetic and enjoys her walks. She enjoys play sessions with her toys, especially if you play tug of war with her. Pippa barks to let you know it is dinner time and play time!

Pippa gets on well with the other dogs and cats in her foster home but will chase cats, if they run, given half a chance!

When Pippa was vet-checked she was found to have some fatty lumps, but they do not need any treatment. She has a grade 2 heart murmur for which she is on Vetmedin.

Pippa is spayed, vaccinated, worm- and flea-treated and microchipped.
