Ben Nevis is the highest mountain in the British Isles. The thought of climbing such a mountain would make most people baulk. For Laura and her friends they see it as a challenge and a wonderful way to help raise much needed funds for charity.

On the 11th September 2010 Laura along with Totts, her 2 yr old JRT cross, will be taking up the challenge in order to raise money for Oldies Club and also Chest, Heart and Stroke Scotland.

The climb and decent is estimated to take approximately of 6 to 8 hours (hopefully!). This is the first time Laura and friends have ever done anything of this nature but they have been in training for some time. Laura’s plan is to climb Meikle Bin in the next week or so and then Ben Lomond on the 28th August 2010 as a practice and to ensure Totts is capable. Laura is also owner to Muffin a 15 yr old Bearded Collie cross. Muffin will take part in the practice climbs but due to her age will be supporting the Ben Nevis Climb from the sidelines. Laura said she would love Muffin to accompany them but that she wouldn’t want to put her older pet at risk. Totts will be Muffin’s Oldies mascot for the climb.
