Teeny Tiny (Oldies Club Sponsor Dog)

Tiny is a 9 year old Jack Russell Terrier who came into Oldies Club care in May 2021. Tiny came into our care as her owner was moving and unfortunately could not take her with them.

Tiny settled into foster straight away. She seemed in relatively good health when she arrived apart from a sore armpit/leg which was deemed due to stress nibbling or perhaps her harness has been a little on the tight side. She had a small lump in the mammary area which didnt look to be of concern. Unfortunately after testing once it had been excised it was revealed that it was a grade 1 carcinoma with a high likelihood of recur and an average survival rate of 3 years. Shortly after two more lumps did appear.

Due to her cancer diagnosis and unknown time left Oldies Club made the decision to place Tiny in our sponsor dog scheme, which means she will remain at her lovely foster home on a permanent basis, with the charity paying her vet bills for the rest of her life.

Despite having a terminal condition Tiny is completely oblivious and lives life to the full. Her one true love are balls. She is a little obsessive with her toys and loves to play catch and shake them.  She does tend to destroy her toys but drops them when told to. Occasionally she needs to have little time outs so as to not over exert herself.

Tiny adores her walks although she can be a little nervous when on lead.  Off lead she absolutely loves, running off to explore but always comes back  when called.

Tiny is loyal and and obedient and well behaved.  She generally gets on well with other dogs, but does sometimes gets jealous which has led to a few handbags at dawn scuffles but nothing serious.  She loves to jump in the air with excitement, loves snuggles and cuddles.

If you would love to offer a home to an oldie but your circumstances aren’t suitable, perhaps you would be kind enough to sponsor Tiny, or one of the other special oldies we are caring for in our sponsor dog scheme.
