13/6/2006 – Bess has sadly passed away.
Her owners say: “We only had just over a year with Bess and we all loved it very much. We hope and believe that she was very happy that year and we gave her a loving home and in return she gaves lots of love back. We want to say thank you for our time and to say we never regret having taking on an older dog and would strongly recommend it to anyone. We have lost a part of the family but not the great memories she gave us.”

Beautiful Bess was a Collie x Greyhound aged about 13 years. She was taken in by her elderly owner’s family who, much as they wanted to, could not keep her.

Rather than see Bess put to sleep, Linda and Keith contacted the Oldies Club for help in finding Bess a new home. Before long, Bess found a loving new family, and the Oldies Club would like to thank Linda and Keith for sparing this gorgeous girl the ordeal of rescue kennels – or worse!

Here’s what her new owners have to say:

I would just like to say a big thank you to you, for helping us find our latest family addition.

We have adopted Bess from Keith and Linda and are so very happy. Bess is lovely dog with a very loving nature. For an older lady she has coped well with the change and appears to be settling down.

We particularly were looking for an older dog and found your website very useful. I
would not hesitate in recommending it as a good point of reference and search point for those looking. Thank you again.

Good luck to Bess in her lovely new home! ;-)
